We also played 3-backline against City and it lead to our first loss of the season. I want to play on the safe side this game and think we should go for a system that the players are comfortable with - that is the 4-2-3-1.

In fact, the 0-0 in donetsk is a sword with double sharp edges, any surprising goal from donetsk (just like did Man. United last season) and then they close all the spaces, thus bayern will run behind the score and sweat to qualify.
I think the best system and the most conservative one (although knowing that Pep will not even think abt it) is the 4-4-2:

-------------------------Neuer------------------
--------Rafinha--------Boateng-----------Badstuber--------Alaba
------------Robben-----Bastian-----Rode-----Ribbery
--------------------Muller------Lewa-------

Bayern must not run like crazy for the goal, they must be patient and score cleverly, it does not matter if it will end 2-0 or 7-0. At the end, both results are enough to reach 1/4.

No against City it was a 4-3-3 (4-1-4-1) :

#neuer
#rafinha #benatia #boateng #bernat
#alonso
#robben #rode #hojbjerg #ribery
#lewandowski

When Benatia got a red card it was a 4-4-1 :

#neuer
#rafinha #boateng #dante #bernat
#robben #alonso #hojbjerg #ribery
#lewandowski

So your argument against a 3-4-3 is useless and wrong ..

My personal screeshot :

I remember we shifting from 3-4-3 to 4-3-3 in one of the City matches, don't remember which one. They were dominating but when we switched to 4 man defensive line, we took control over.

True. But it was the first at Allianz

They didn't have to. They know 0:0 works for them. They won't do much in Allianz as well, except use every trick in the book to irritate Bayern players. I see 10 men behind the ball. They will try to drag the game so Bayern cannot recover. Scoreless in extra time, I see Bayern players panicking. Even if we score they might just wait for a lucky goal. They know each goal they score counts as 2. Bayern must score 2 quick goals to turn pressure on schaktar. Otherwise it will be a long night.

IMO we get too exposed on counters if we're not playing a 3 in the back formation. On the other hand, sometimes I'm not even sure what freaking formation we're even playing, so my opinion isn't really worth a lot.

Our biggest victory this season is 8-0 against Hamburg, and we played 4-2-3-1

It's not entirely impossible for that to happen. They have the advantage in the fact that they don't have to win to go trough while we have to win.
What you say is true, but the players can't use that as an excuse. We need to be more clinical & start penetrating the defence through the middle - that's what gotze is for. On average we have more shots on target, more corners, more possession but we can't rest on our laurels.

I've got full confidence in this team and in our coach, there is no doubt that they will make it hard for us but i'm certain we'll overcome them in the end. I believe we will score atleast 3 goals and make it though to the next round.

Did you mean to say "laurels"?

Oh, ok. Was just curious because I have never heard of one resting on one's morals so I thought I should ask.
