Oh wow... Hopefully he'll turn as good as his brother. I'd just want to see a fast technical player because that's what we're missing the most atm.. Let it be Kurt, Ribery Jr, Weiser

So, Bastian & Lahm will play and Ribery won't play

I think Franck will sit on the bench and play like 15 to 20 minutes (like the dfb pokal final)

Agreed, Bayern are playing very one dimensional football at the moment without any width at all.

Thing is that Porto will be without their two best full backs as both Sandro and Danilo are suspended.

These are some of their best players and their absence can be exploited by such players, even if they're nowhere as good as Robbery, since their replacements aren't anywhere as good as Sandro and Danilo either...

If Bayern's fullbacks and wide players can push up and deliver some decent crosses if might actually trouble the Porto defense.

Scoring an early goal will be of the essence though at the same time conceding just one goal could be lethal.

I don't want Ribery or Basti to start if they were not fit like the last year against Real. These group of players are more than enough to beat Porto under two condition : 1- They believe that they can do it ( this is Pep's jop ) 2- they are able to give 100% ( thus a fit Alonso is better than unfit Basti, a fit Wiser is better than unfit Ribery ).

I suggest this:

Neuer

Rafinha -- Boateng--Bade

Lahm ( Wiser ) -- Thiago -- Alonso -- Bernat

Gotze

Muller -- Lewa

To the semis .. we are marching

To exploit their fullbacks the best way will be having a formation with both wingers & fullbacks, so that they can overlap and create constant chaos on the wings.

Lewy
Bernat - Thiago - Rode - Muller
Schweini
Lahm - Badstuber - Boateng - Rafinha
Neuer

Alonso instead Schweini, if the later isn't fit to play (I don't want Alonso to be exploited again but there are no other players available).

Whoever gets on that pitch will have to show more fight that they did in Portugal.

I would prefer not to see Dante, Alonso, and Gotze in the lineup. Lahm hasn't been doing that well lately either. How did Gaudino look today?

Neuer
Rafinha - Boateng - Badstuber - Bernat
Lahm/Gaudino - Schweini - Rode
Mueller - Lewa - Thiago

Gotze has had a series of awful games, & we saw that again vs. Hoffenheim. If we play Gotze ahead of say Weiser - it will be like playing handicap.

Badstuber has to replace Dante there is no arguing about that.

Rode in for Alonso - who probably needs another week to recuperate

Looks like Ribery won't be starting this match so I would like to see:

Neuer
Rafinha - Boateng - Dante - Bernat
Lahm - Schweini - Thiago
Muller - Lewan - Gotze

This will be an unpopular opinion but I wouldn't play Badstuber in this game. He has only played 104 minutes in the CL this season and has never started in a big match. Dante is far more experienced and will be extra motivated to redeem himself. Badstuber is even less agile and pacy than Dante so I don't think playing him in a 4 man high defensive line is a good idea at all. I don't think it's fair to single out Dante for our abysmal performance against Porto because the entire team sucked. It has more to do with the wrong tactics than individual quality because when used effectively, Dante is still a very capable defender.

I would also risk Schweinsteiger and start him right away.

Bads for Dante, Rode for Xabi and Weiser/Gaudino for Mario Götze should be the way

Dante & Gotze should sit on the bench
And if Basti is fit, Alonso should sit on the bench too

I still can't understand how our board went without a backup winger when they sold shaqiri

Alonso should sit on the bench no matter what. He made 3 huge mistakes in this season`s ucl, he made a stupid foul in the box vs BvB(we were lucky the ref pretended not to see it), he is way too slow for Pep`s tactics; I`m almost sure he`ll do something wrong should he start

I think Schweini will insist on playing this match even by risking himself like he did in WC, with him and without him we will have absolutely different chances to progress.

This type of game is made for Bastian because when he plays to his best potential he is unstoppable!

---------------------------Neur--------
------Rafinha---Boateng-----badstuber----bernat---

------------Lahm----------------Bastian-------

---------------rode---------thiago---------

---------------------gotze---------------
--------------------Lewa-------------

And yes I still want gotze to start he can change a game in tight heavy defenses.
