I hope this : Neuer - Lahm, Boateng, Badstuber, Bernat - Schweinsteiger, Rode - Müller, Thiago, Götze - Lewandowski

But I think it will be : Neuer - Rafinha, Boateng, Badstuber, Bernat - Schweinsteiger, Alonso, Thiago - Müller, Lewandowski, Götze

And we're done.

If Bastian can play next Tuesday, I may start having some hope again for this match.
as almost everyone else is saying;

Bads for Dante, Basti for Alonso.
I would have said Rode for Rafinha / Lahm back to RB. but that wont happen.
so I'd Say Rode for Gotze.
Rode / Bastai alternating on the offensive duties.
Rode should support the right flank, and Muller on the left.

in any case, neither Alonso, Dante nor Gotze should start or take any part of this game.

EDIT
none of this will matter if Pep decides to position our defense in the opponents half.

Please, Bayern, show some heart and spirit. Even if we lose I really want to see how we don't give up till the end. That's how I started to love Bayern years ago.

Martin Atkinson will referee this match.

He was previously the referee when Bayern beat Cluj and Lille.

Furthermore Basti took part in the full 90 minute training session today (Bild) so it looks like he'll play on Tuesday, but it's still not sure if Lahm will recover in time...

I certainly hope so. That Schweini / Alonso combi is something I really don't want to see on Tuesday.

And yes I still want gotze to start he can change a game in tight heavy defenses.
I thought that was his speciality but I was proven wrong time & time again. He is falling into the same trap as Shaqiri - trying to do too much on his own. He should be the one linking up play, opening gaps in defence & running at players in 1 v 1 situation. But his pace has been slow, his movement disorganized & he seems lost.

With Dortmund he used to be relentless - constantly in your face. The direct 1 touch football is missing from our game & it needs to come back. Otherwise Lewi & Gotze will not reach their full capacity.

I really think Alonso needs more time to recuperate. His concentration has hit rock bottom.

In any case why not go with a rode-thiago midfield pairing?

& I just wonder if Weiser will come on at some point - he has been impressive.

If Bayern's fullbacks and wide players can push up and deliver some decent crosses if might actually trouble the Porto defense.

Scoring an early goal will be of the essence though at the same time conceding just one goal could be lethal
.

Yes, but there use to be the days when even conceding early goal did not mean much, players would fight back and win. Maybe that is part of the problem, these guys are just done. Not interested in making it. Many look like bundesliga title is enough for them.

He completed an individual running session today, according to FCB.tv, I'm optimistic. Come on, Lahm. Don't disappoint me.

Good that it's an english ref, they usually let the players play hard challenges instead of those fucking spanish refs calling a foul everytime someone falls down

I have that feeling that we will score 2 goals in the 1st half
But when I remember that Robbery are out and Gotze is playing , I become pessimistic :/

I think we should park the bus and try scoring on the few chances we get. We can't afford to concede another goal
