Van Buyten confirms that Panathinaikos are interested in him.

"Panathinaikos are a well-known club in Europe. I'd like to play more games than last season but I'll leave it to the two clubs and my agent."

If he will move i think Breno will stay.

I like van Buyten, I'll not forget the dramatic match against Milan in (the 2-2) 06/07 .

I feel Van Buyten got a good handful of matches last season. I understand that he might want to play more but he has to consider where he's standing, in a very big club. And like I said, he did get his good share of minutes last season.

Besides, at the start of the campaign he's gonna play a lot with Demichelis, given the extra time Lucio will be given to catch his breath.

Van Buyten was always a good back up, a towering figure strong in the air and reliable defender, sad to see him leave to be honest.

Van Buyten: "A transfer for me is currently not an issue. I am staying at FC Bayern and I am here to fully concentrate on my duties under the new coach. I'm looking forward to the restart of training and the new season at FC Bayern."

If the rumours that Lucio could be off are true, than it's good that Van Buyten is staying. Since we are unlikely to sign Bosingwa, Braafheid will play at LB which Lahm moving to the right side, so we'll need someone to partner Demichelis.

van Buyten always bags the goal whenever we need them, and is an outstanding back up, it will be a plus if he stays.

I't good to see him staying. He's already a good CB and will be better if playing usually with Demichelis. Good in heading too. Bayern needs him.

Danny's a good player, no doubt about that. As for the remark of Lucio leaving... aint going to happen this season! We will be seeing him and Lahm (and hopefully a good RB) tearing it up in the backfield!!!!!!

According to "Sport Bild", FC Bayern want to offload 5 more players. Van Buyten is not one of them, they think he's been loyal to the club and is a top professional. Van Buyten wants to fight for his spot and a new contract.
