Maybe's he's trying to get a new contract with his hipster haircut

Jokes aside, DVB has served Bayern well but it's time for others to take his place.

As I've stated before, I do hope he remains at Bayern in some staff capacity as he's a terrific lad.

Also via @OptaFranz:

I was surprised that he was able to play for 120 minutes and performed very well the whole game

Saying that, I don't want to see him vs Messi & Di Maria

and Good luck DVB, he was always ready when we needed him, but it's time for a change

He was properly appreciated.

Spoiler
In before thread close.

I'm gonna miss his goals. Anyone remember the 2-3 at Mainz? It had to be van Buyten.

For me the best goals of van Buyten were against AC Milan in 2005/2006. Awesome.

DVB is set to retire from professional football after turning down an offer from Anderlecht because he wanted to spend more time with his family.

Thanks for everything Daniel!

As I've stated before, I'd love to see DVB return to Bayern as a member of the (coaching) staff.

he was a great backup in the last years, too bad that it didn't work out with him playing for the 2nd team
