Kicker predicted XI

Neuer
Rafinha Boateng Badstuber Bernat
Vidal Alonso Renato Sanches
Robben Müller Douglas Costa

Very interesting lineup prediction, I'm hoping for something rather different:

Neuer
Kimmich Boateng Hummels Alaba
Vidal Thiago
Robben Müller Costa
Lewandowski

you wanna put the ballerina alongside Badstuber - a dedicated full time bench warmer?
So that Carrasco can make a fool out of us again?

Honestly, i really dont understand that prediction from Kicker... That sounds like we already have guaranted the first place and have nothing to prove against our actual carrasco.

After a good game where our game fluid well, too much changes... However thats just a prediction, lets wait...

I know we can't win the group but I hope Carlo treats this game like we still can. We need to build confidence, pride, momentum and find an ideal starting line up

Neuer
Kimmich - Boateng - Hummels - Alaba
Thiago - Vidal
Robben - Müller - Ribery
Lewandowski

Would be brilliant, I hope we can play well

It's quite simple, we are already second regardless of what we do in this match, so there's nothing to win (except honor points). On the other hand, key players can get suspended or injured for the knockout phase, so we do have things to lose. On the face of those circumstances, Carlo is choosing to play it safe and not risk more than he absolutely needs to.

I would like to win and preserve our home record, but It's not like Carlo's POV is without merit either.

I honestly wouldn't mind trying out 4-3-3 without Alonso. Something like

Vidal - Martinez/Sanches
Thiago/Kimmich
(Or switch Martinez position with Thiagos)

But that's probably just a farfetched dream.

Fair point.

To be fair this is little more than a glorified friendly at this point. No injuries and no suspensions is the only real winning result here.

I'd still like to see us beating their asses tho

Some points from Carlo's presser

-Boateng will miss the match due to some muscular problems
- Lahm will start despite risking a yellow card ban if he's carded tomorrow
- Vidal is fully fit and could start but Carlo hasn't yet decided if he'll start
- When asked about the tactical system has said that there are many options available, 433, 4231 etc.
- Last but not least Carlo praised Thiago a lot, said he's very important to the team and can play in every midfield position

So it seems likely that Martinez will join Hummels in defense as I don't think Badstuber is ready to start a game like this

Das sagt Bayern-Trainer Carlo Ancelotti vor dem Spiel gegen Atlético Madrid
